I will get back to you as soon as posible, and probably you will appear in the blog if you want to =)
First of all I have to say (1 day late): We are the champions of Europe!!! After 44 years of not winning and 25 years of not getting to a semifinal I think it was about time. Somehow Spain is one of the biggest countries in football (soccer for americans) and a favourite but then the team always screws up. It's funny how I usually hate football and then the World cup or euro cup takes place and I can't stop watching the games. Maybe because you get to see all the stereotypes there: italians dress better, play rough. Germans are tall and big, Swedish are blonde. Spaniards are fast, thin, small and dark haired lol. And somehow when your team wins it makes you feel happy, even though that is not gonna pay your bills haha.
I'm sorry for the germans because I noticed they are good loosers. They were sad and all that but I didn't see anyone crying. Maybe it's because Spain won not thanks to good luck but because they really played better. =) (I'm so sure if Spain had lost the players would have been crying. Spanish men are very emotional I guess lol)
And now back to the fashion world!
Last week I didn't have time to do this post, but it is one of my favourites so here it is again! I love getting to see wicked outfits by regular people, they always amaze me and give me new ideas. Most of the times I end up thinking, wish I could get that style!
In my defense, I have to say yesterday I tried my own =) I will post it soon for your delight hehehe but even though I love fashion, I'm not very fashionable or have a real style lol
Anyways, here is this week's urban fashion take 3. Today: Elissa (aka spandexpony). I loved this outfit as soon as I lied my eyes on it =) I think you will too. On the right, the original look, on the left, items I found in Etsy to recreate.
Sweater: thrifted, remixed! Belt: thrifted Tube top of non-modesty: UO Jeans: American Rag Minty delicious heels: thrifted
And, very very important, take a look at spandexpony's blog! It is just awesome! Full of great looks she sees in the streets =) and other fashion ideas and outfits. Believe me, you'll love it.
Hope you liked this post and stay tuned for next one!
P.S: Thanks Elissa!!! =)
On a side note I would like to announce that the shop floralia is having a 40% discount in her etsy shop! Get some really pretty fine art photographic prints.
It's Monday again and I have a superb prize for you this week! A beautiful Venetian glass pendant by cozysister. It's definitely a classy prize ;)
I have to say I LOVE this pendant and if I could I'd keep it for myself, it looks like having water hanging in a pendant =) . But who could do a short description about it better than the creator?
An 18mm vivid aqua colored, silver foil lined Venetian glass disc has been wrapped in copper coils accented with tiny sterling silver beads. The piece has been antiqued for added depth.
This pendant would look great on a silver or copper chain, or on a black neck cord (not included).
The pendant measures about 1 1/4 inches (3 cm) in height including the bail, about 1 inch (2.5 cm) without the bail. The bails opening (through which the chain or neck cord must fit) measures about 7mm x 4mm.
This pendant was made with a technique taught by Eni Oken.
Rules to enter:
Visit cozysister's shop and pick a favourite item.
Leave a comment in this post with your favourite item and a way to contact you (email or etsy link. Leave a contact or I won't be able to place you in the draft).
This giveaway ends 6th July at midnight EST and I will announce the winner on Monday. Good luck!

This week: Around the World in 80 Stamps Vintage Bag by yasminbochi
How cool is a bag with stamps on it???? When I was a kid I used to collect stamps. After 1 year or so I got bored lol but I remember the fabulous drawings from the unknown countries around the world... so exotic! Now you have the chance to wear them! =)
And it would look so awesome with one of her Mirror Mirror rings:
Hope you liked this week's fashion item! =)
If you think your items or someone elses could fit in this section, please post your pictures in the photo pool. Remember: Handmade / Vintage items only!
Not the kind of engineer of the first photo, but it was way too cool to not post it! =) More the computer kind of Engineer. The second picture is to remind myself that art can be made with math and a computer! By billoneil
I'm finally over with the degree so now I have more time to write in this blog... Expect some new fashion posts soon! =)
I had planned to do a Get the Look post every wednesday, but this week is hectic and really have no time :(
I'm reading my final dissertation is in 2 days and if everything goes well (cross your fingers so my program does not crash!) on Friday I'll be a Software Engineer! HAH! (And have much more free time)
Well, I have such wonderful readers (hey, it's true!) that I started looking for some etsy sellers willing to do giveaways for you!
Summer is getting close, so I thought we could do with some nice treats. With this idea in mind, I decided to create Monday's giveaways! =) Each Monday check the blog for a new giveaway. I try to select items that I really like, so I hope you like them too.
Today is our first blog giveaway, and I have something absolutely cute for you! Cute and adorable =) Take a look at this Felt orange birthday Cake by the fabulous lookmamamadeit
I'd eat it if I could. It makes a fabulous gift for anybody! In fact, I think I should get one for our group of friends, that way we don't have to buy a cake each time we have a birthday! haha (We always end up without cake because we forget to get one on time sigh) Anyways, I think the size is more for a doll's bday =) (I still think it would look so cute to go to someone's bday with this hehe)
I chose this skirt because it is TOTALLY ideal for a fashion victim. I love it, and I think it's so original and nice, I really see Victoria Beckham wearing one of these ;) Or you, or me! =) I think a lot of people can wear this and transform a regular skirt into a stunning outfit. And, it would look perfect with one of her fringe necklaces:
If you think your items or someone elses could fit in this section, please post your pictures in the photo pool. Remember: Handmade / Vintage items only!
Last week I decided that the readers of this blog deserved some kind of giveaway or discount in cool handamde items, so here goes the first one!
Salsagal is offering a 10% discount to the readers of this blog. Yay! Thanks! She has unique jewellery with stones and beads from around the world, some really funky pieces!
Buy something at her shop, and at checkout in the notes to seller write the code "GilbeaBlog". She will refund you the 10% of the item price. If you like her work, hurry up because this offer lasts only until 27th June midnight EST.
If you are a seller of handmade or vintage items and want to offer a discount or giveaway in this blog, please leave a comment here and I will contact you.
First of all, thank you all for wishing me a happy birthday :) I did in fact have a lot of fun this weekend hehe
Today I am bringing you another get the look of post. I placed a poll in my blog for this section and the winner was Sarah Jessica Parker. And I have to admit one thing. When I lived in the US I was a Sex and The City addict! So I thought it would be fun to deconstruct Carrie's look, since she was a style icon while the show was on air, and now she is back! After all, she is queen of Manhattan chic =)
Here I try to offer you items I found in Etsy to look a little bit more like Carrie, based on these outfits from the movie. From the photos above: outfit #1: 3rd row from Etsy items, outfit #2: 4th row, outfit #3: 6th and 7th rows, outfit #4: 5th and 6th rows, outfit #5: 8th row pink dress, outfit #6: 1st and 2nd rows.
Can you believe that in the bazillion bags there are in Etsy I could not find an Eiffel Tower bag??? Unbelievable! haha
And now some makeup tips to look more like Carrie:
Carrie always looks natural, as if she was not wearing much makeup: her cosmetics are all about shiny curls, defined cheekbones, bold eyes and nude, glossy lips.
With a freshly sharpened black pencil liner, you're going to make a thin yet dense line across the entire upper lash line. But you're not going to draw the line. To get a really fine line, dot the liner directly along the roots of the lashes in a "connect the dots" approach. No smudging, because you'll want to keep that line solid.
Sketch a line under the lower lashes with a gray-blue pencil, then smudge with a cotton swab or pointed-tip sponge applicator.
Apply two coats of black mascara to the upper lids. Apply one coat of mascara to lower lashes.
Blot cheeks, chin, nose and forehead with a sheer loose powder.
Apply a heather-pink powder blush to the cheekbones only.
Finish by lining the lips in a nude-pink liner, then filling the lips in with a soft, baby-pink sheer lipstick.
If you want information about her hairstyles, take a look here.
Here you have a video explaining how to do the makeup, this one is a little more sophisticated =)
Also, I am very happy to announce that you can follow this get the look of series in Etsy through the Etsy Finds section of the Storque! =) Yay Thanks Etsy (and specially Anda). Subscribe here to get a daily email with the Etsy Finds.
I'm getting old... hahaha I got a couple presents from etsy that my parents bought me from a list I made (this is super useful if your family doesn't know what to get you), which I really loved and soon will write a short product review on them. However, there will always be too many things I like in Etsy and that I don't feel like asking my family to buy because they are a little pricey. (I'm still considering asking for a Wii or iPod but always feel it is too much lol)
So, here are some stuff I would LOVE to have. And someday will own... mwuahahaha! In the meantime, if you want to buy me something.. *wink wink* email me and I will tell you my size and address hihi =)
Now after sharing this favourites with you, I just hope you don't like them as much as I do and don't buy them before me! (Unless you buy them for me of course :P )
I love a lot of the photos people posted in the flickr group to be featured here. It was hard to choose, but I really liked this piece because of the colors and shapes.
This week: Totally beach necklace
This is a stunning necklace by antigoni. It just smells like a vacation in the caribbean sea hmmmm =)
If you think your items or someone elses could fit in this section, please post your pictures in the photo pool. Remember: Handmade / Vintage items only!
I had to continue this great series, and since I'm slowly getting into the summer mood, I chose an outfit from wardrobe remix that really inspired me to get out the summer dresses.
So far I'm white as paper because it has been the most rainy May in 25 years. Can you believe that? And you thought in Spain all we do is sunbathe while we drink sangria lol =) That was my plan for summer anyways hehe but summer is coming in a little late!
Anyways, I found this awesome outfit from nushbush. It was love at first sight. Her dress is super sweet! And on the right I show you what I could find in Etsy to recreate a similar look :)
cardigan - uniqlo dress - a vintage shop off the mile end road shoes - keds/office school bag - she made it
Last week I had a home party to sell some of my silk creations ;) and it was fabulous! I sold much more than expected and people loved the new collection!!
This is my last home party before the fall collection, and probably won't be doing many more craft shows this summer, so in the next days I'm going to be adding to my etsy store the complete stock of silk scarves, skinny scarves, tshirts and hand fans =)
Thanks for reading and hope you like the new items!
My birthday is coming up (Next week!) and I'm really falling in love with too many items in Etsy. Most of them I obviously can't afford haha. So this new section is for those things I love, but can't have :( So if you wanna get me something for my birthday *wink wink* keep checking this section! =)
I adore this dress. Maybe I would like it even better with another print, but it still is my dream dress! It looks really summerish (is that even a word?) and lovely and also great for a night out with the girls.
oh, and... Don't buy it! It's mine (or it will when I have the money) ... mwuahaha!
Today I introduce a new blog series: The fashion friendly item of the week! Each week I will present here one lovely item I have found and love. And yes, these fashionable items can be anything! jewelry, art, clothing, accessories, etc.
This week: Of hands... his blue hand bag
Fabulous bag by ziazia. I'm pretty sure you can fit almost anything in this bag, and it will give a little 'boho' touch to your outfit :)
If you think your items or someone elses could fit in this section, please post your pictures in the photo pool. Remember: Handmade / Vintage items only!
Last week I asked many people about this topic. Who would you like to see in this section? And many people answered: Penelope Cruz! Well, as a fellow Spaniard =) I have to recognize that life has treated her well. She made it big in Hollywood, but she is also one fashionable woman! Very stylish in any place: at the Oscars with a nice dress that fits her figure, or in her everyday life. If you take a look at some of her photos, you will see that in a regular day she is pretty much a tshirt and jeans girl, but still in a fashionable way. Basically, her style is simple and clean.
Keep reading and you will see some clothing and makeup tips to look like her ! =)
I think Penelope (or Pe, as we call her in Spain), would like these items I found in Etsy:
I tried to mix everyday items with some stunning red carpet dresses =) I hope you like them!
This time I could not find a video on how to wear Pe's makeup or get her hairdo. Probably because her hairdo is pretty normal.
And finally, some makeup tips.
Penelope's makeup always focuses on her eyes, as she usually wears a classy smokey-eye look.
Steps to get her look:
Put on a light coating of foundation.
Use navy blue eyeliner and eye shadow. Line the entire top and bottom lids first, then apply the navy blue eye shadow over the eyeliner.
OR : Apply black eyeliner pencil, making a generous line above the entire upper lash line. (If your lids are not as large as Penelope's, make a slightly narrower line.) Using a cotton bud, sponge applicator or your finger, gently smudge the line. Next apply liner inside the lower lash line, and then apply it underneath the outer third of the lower lash line
Curl lashes by crimping them at the bottom, middle and ends of the lashes. Apply mascara on the upper lids. Brush eyebrows up.
Dust bronzer on your cheeks.
Add a tinted lip gloss rather than a lipstick. Choose a color that is most similar to your natural lip color.
Finish the Penelope Cruz look with a light dusting of shimmery powder all over the face.
Well, I hope you liked this post =) And if you would like to see a "get the look of" post of someone else, please let me know! I need cool-fashionable people to portrait :)
