And I was so busy trying to finish editing the VivaLaModa july issue before leaving that I totally forgot to update the blog. My apologies to all the fashion addicts out there ;)

Also, relating the magazine, I am trying to get together some gift bags for the collaborators that have written most for the magazine. Since the zine doesn't make much money, I am trying to ask for freebies and samples from handmade/vintage sellers. If anyone wants to participate let me know! Cobalt Blue is a color all designers have used in different collections, and even though it looks more like a winter color, it is also used in many summer collections! Made famous in the 80s, it is now back!

Why? Well, in my opinion, cobalt blue is a color that looks good on ANYONE! Blondes, brunettes, redheads, etc!
Yup. Don't believe me? try it on! Start with a small touch like a brooch, a silk scarf on the neck, a headband. Then build up from there, combine a cobalt blue shirt with your clothes. Or maybe a coat, why not? It will brighten those fall and winter days.

But beware! It looks good on anyone, but not with any other color! Use black, grey, white, silver for a more sophisticated look. Other people recommend to combine with yellow or brights like red, pink and green. For me that is too much color, but it all depends on you :)

You can also range from electric cobalt blue to softer tones, but I rather do the medium tones or deeper ones.

One of the reasons I have been so busy is the editing of VivaLaModa! It was finally published online at beginning of May and so far got really great reviews! =)

So... the new issue of VivaLaModa (the handmade fashion online zine) is out!!!

As always, it mainly focuses on handmade & vintage items, and anything related with them, this time with a special take on the wedding season with two big articles: A Vegas Wedding with vintage dresses, and Unique Wedding with custom made gowns.

I specially love the designer spotlight (this issue the designer interviewed is Kate Towers, also on the cover), Get Joan's look (the sexy secretary at Mad Men... who doesn't just adore that show?) and Top 10 fashion items (a collection of 10 items every woman should have in her wardrobe!).

Portugal is FANTASTIC! I encourage everybody to go on vacation there =)
I only visited the north: Porto, Coimbra, etc, but next year I am going to Lisbon and south... can't wait!

And to celebrate my love for Portugal, it's food, landscapes, towns, super nice & friendly people, and everything in general, I have made a small selection of items from portuguese shops in Etsy.

Ok... so headbands might not be in the sytlebook for this spring BUT! I just got a haircut and I can barely make a ponytail so... for the first time in my life (not including when I was a kid lol) I am going to wear a headband! Of course, I don't have any, so I turned my head to Etsy to see if I could find any I liked.
I am all for thin headbands that are not too obvious lol - no fascinators (at least not until I get used to wearing headbands).

Headbands and hair pins, the things I am gonna need most these days (and probably for a long time cause I love this new haircut lol)!

Gloves!
But not any kind of gloves... fetiche gloves are, as usual, leather gloves. This time, the extra long version with short sleeved tops, the more classic ones and the casual look ones, all of them are fashionable this season!
I know Spring is here and the cold is leaving.. but until it is really gone, why not wear a pair of super soft and lovely leather gloves? =)

I have always loved to wear all kind of bracelets, specially cuffs. In fact, I have tons of them (ehem, and even more earrings!!) and love to wear them in spring & summer.
But don't worry, you can also wear them in fall & winter. Just wear them over the sleeves of your turtle neck shirts. Fantastic look!

So what is in this season for bracelets? Basically: Rocker Cuffs. Big leather bracelets/cuffs with buckles, and metal. They are cool because they can be worn anywhere and with almost any trend or look. (well, probably they wouldn't match too well with a formal suit lol)

So, tonight is the Oscar's night!

Despite the crisis, the bad moments or any other bad things happening in our lives, we can always turn to a good movie to forget all that for a few hours. Isn't that great??
And tonight all the Hollywood celebrities get together in the Oscar's night to see who wins. However, even more important than the winners, are the women's dresses! Yup! For a few days after tonight we will hear a lot about what was worn on the red carpet.

This glamurous night deserves a small fashionable collection, so here it is! I put together fantastic gowns, jewelry, shoes, bags and accessories worth being worn to the celebration. Hope you like it!

A while ago Bonzie and I got together (virtually lol) and decided to do a collaboration where I would paint some silk and she would make a dress with it =)

So by christmas I saw the dress finally made, and seriously, I had no words! It is named Fall of Night Handkerchief Halter Dress =) She made such a fantastic work with the silk, the dress is simply stunning. I was left totally o_O cause I love the dress so so much, I never even dreamt something so cool could be done with my silks lol

I wanted to tell you all guys about this collaboration a while ago, but life got in the middle and I have had barly no time to post in the blog (as you have noticed, of course). Who would have guessed being unemployed would be so time consuming LOL

Anyways, Bonzie did a photoshoot of the dress last week and send me the pictures and it just looks too amazing. I couldn't resist it and had to share the photos with you! My silk is in a photoshoot!!!!!

And, the dress is for sale at bonzie's shop! =)

So, what do you think? By the way, this has always been my dream, to paint silk for a designer who can make a great piece out of it. If any other designers are interested in collaborating, drop me a line!

One of my favourite colors of the season is plum. I haven't checked the pantone colors for autmn winter 08 lately, so I can't remember if it is a color that should be in fashion this season, all I know is it is everywhere in the shops! And I'm so happy about that, it will be really sad to see it go.

Yup, I'm addicted to bags! What woman isn't? And if it is not bags, it is jewelry, or shoes, or all of them! =)

I selected a few of my favourite bags, hope you like them! Most of my favs are big bags, I love tot ake tons of thing to work lol. I don't have any clutches because I don't see the use of something I can't hang on my shoulder, and I attend zero fancy parties so... maybe for a wedding...

Yesterday I hosted at the Etsy chats a fashion chat were we had quite a lot of fun! I showed some of my favourites in bags, clothes, accessories and jewelry.

There is a little of everything: dresses, shirts, coats, jackets, vest. The only things I didn't add is trousers and skirts. Mainly because I never buy a pair of jeans without trying them first, and I'm not a skirts girl :D LOL

This kind of dress is one of the most femenine and sensual! Seems this season it is back, and strong.
You can find this dress in every store, from H&M to the super exclusive boutiques. What is hot this season is the dress with sweetheart neckline in 1 color: black, grey, dark blue, brown, etc.

How to wear it? The elegant option: no jewelry and hair up. The sexy way: short straight skirt. Shoes: from nice flats to high heels with round point, whatever you choose!
This dress can we worn to an elegant party, to go out clubbing, or if choose a more plain version it can be worn anywhere with a more casual style! =)

Well well! I have a couple job interviews in Madrid this week, so I will be taking the train tomorrow morning and still don't know when I will be back. I won't be able to update the blog, but hopefully this won't last long :P (Meaning I will soon have a job?)

So, I was thinking, what should I wear to a job interview? This is like my first real job interview after graduating. I've read everywhere I should get a conservative two-piece business suitsuit. However, I don't have one, I haven't found one that fits me well, I doubt they will ever fit me well, and I hate them. I have a couple nice jeans and that will have to do. After all, I am applying for a analyst/developer position, so no client interaction is needed. Anyways, I am going to call again the agency today to see if I need to rush to the mall to get a two piece suit :( Let's hope not!

And I don't have a briefcase either! argh! hahaha
